On the morning of November 16, 18 members, including Liu Jishun, chairman of the thirteenth group of the CPPCC, visited Xinminzhou Port for investigation. Vice General Manager of Zhonglin Times Holding Co., Ltd., Jiangsu New Minzhou Port Co., Ltd., Zhenjiang Guolin Eco-Industrial City Co., Ltd., and Liu Fengzhu, General Manager of Zhenjiang Zhonglin Co., Ltd. were accompanied to visit and had a discussion with the guests.

    CPPCC members visited and investigated berth No. 4 of Xinminzhou Port Area and Area A of the first processing stage of the Industrial City. They learned the advantages of the port location, throughput, wood processing industry development and company operation on the spot. Up to now, 82 ships have arrived at Hong Kong in Xinminzhou this year, with 2.4 million square meters of imported timber and 600,000 square meters of initial processed timber. The imported timber increased by 133% year on year.

    At the symposium, Liu Fengzhu, on behalf of Jiangsu New Minzhou Port Company Limited and Zhenjiang Guolin Eco-Industrial City Limited, warmly welcomed the members of the CPPCC and expressed heartfelt thanks to the leaders from all walks of life who have cared about and supported the development of Xinminzhou Port in recent years. Combining with wall charts, this paper briefly introduces the leapfrogging development of Xinminzhou Port Area from the aspects of location space, port logistics, industrial development and so on. Liu Fengzhu said that at present, all cadres and workers in Hong Kong are working hard to hit the annual timber import volume of 3 million cubic meters, which is closely related to the strong leadership and support of the competent departments at all levels.     Liu Jishun said that through on-site visits and investigations, he had a deeper understanding of the port's good development prospects and huge development potential. He hoped that Xinminzhou people would start from a long-term perspective, strengthen enterprise management and improve the quality of development. At the same time, in the process of integration and development of Hong Kong, we should integrate tourism elements, devote ourselves to building small towns with wood characteristics, constantly reduce the operating costs of enterprises, and do a good job in various production services.
